Here Begins the Story
Four people, a room, books all over.
Movement, music and acrobatics become words to share stories.
A pair of acrobats and two musicians, the smell of paper and ink, pages saved from the war that find new life each time someone goes through their lines.
For the audience, images, emotions, acrobatics, music and poetry. For the artists on stage, the will to create a bridge between circus and the life of the spectators through an object which is present in most of the people’s life.
What does a book smell like?
What are you not allowed to do with a book?
During the performance the characters experience the books with all their senses and they make the words come alive.
A trombone, a viola, a loop machine and the books themselves, are the instruments that accompany the movements and the story.

The Company
Celso y Frana is a Circus company with base in Stockholm. Its components, Celso Pereira and Francesca Lissia, met in the Circus School Carampa (Madrid) in 2004.
There they started practicing pair acrobatics, following the desire to deepen the technical and artistic potential of this discipline, they decided to continue studying Contemporary Circus at the University of Dance of Stockholm (Danshögskolan).
The common artistic view that they developed during the lasts three years, finds a concrete form in their performances.
Oslo, Madrid, Copenhagen, Turin, Stockholm are some of the towns were they have already performed.
Next projects will bring them to Namur (Belgium), Sfax (Tunisia), Chalon (France), Helsinki (Finland)...

Francesca Lissia

Graduated in Biology and high level pole vault jumper, she turned her live upside-down in 2004 and move to Madrid to start doing circus.
She loves to share, and circus has been the tool that let her share thoughts, enthusiasm, creativity, energy…
Like a tropical frog
Colourful, funny and tireless.

Celso Pereira Arizaga
